We are looking for a **Senior Backend Engineer** with **1–7 years of experience** to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in **backend development**, API design, databases, server-side programming, and building robust services that support business-critical applications.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices.
-   Build secure, reliable, and high-performance server-side applications using appropriate backend technologies.
-   Develop and integrate **RESTful APIs** and other service interfaces for web and mobile applications.
-   Work with relational and NoSQL databases to design schemas, write optimized queries, and improve database performance.
-   Write clean, maintainable, modular, and well-tested code following software engineering best practices.
-   Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, production issues, bugs, and system reliability challenges.
-   Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end features.
-   Participate in architecture and technical design discussions and contribute to decisions around scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
-   Implement appropriate authentication, authorization, validation, logging, monitoring, and error-handling mechanisms.
-   Develop automated unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
-   Review code written by peers and contribute to improving coding standards and development practices.
-   Monitor backend services and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
-   Stay updated with emerging backend technologies, frameworks, development practices, and industry trends.

### Must-Have Skills

-   **Strong hands-on experience in Backend Development.**
-   Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as **Python, Java, Node.js, Go, C#, or similar**.
-   Strong understanding of **REST APIs, HTTP protocols, API integration, and backend architecture**.
-   Experience working with **SQL and/or NoSQL databases**.
-   Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software design principles.
-   Experience building scalable and production-ready backend applications.
-   Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows.
-   Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
-   Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.
-   Ability to write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code.

### Good-to-Have Skills

-   Experience with **microservices architecture** and distributed systems.
-   Exposure to cloud platforms such as **AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud**.
-   Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
-   Experience with caching technologies such as Redis.
-   Familiarity with message queues or event-driven systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
-   Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
-   Contributions to system architecture, technical documentation, or open-source projects.
