We are looking for a talented **Backend Engineer** with **2–8 years of experience** in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in **Node.js**, **Express.js**, and modern backend development practices. You will work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to build reliable APIs and high-performance services that power mission-critical applications.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, building scalable distributed systems, and writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using **Node.js** and **Express.js**.
-   Build secure, high-performance server-side applications capable of handling large volumes of requests.
-   Design modular and reusable application architecture following industry best practices.
-   Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability through efficient coding and database optimization.
-   Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless user experiences.
-   Develop authentication, authorization, and security mechanisms for backend systems.
-   Write clean, well-documented, and testable code while following coding standards.
-   Troubleshoot production issues, debug applications, and implement long-term solutions.
-   Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural planning.
-   Work closely with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, deployment, and monitoring.

### Required Skills

### Must-Have Skills

-   Strong proficiency in **Node.js**.
-   Hands-on experience with **Express.js** for building RESTful APIs and backend services.
-   Solid understanding of backend development principles and server-side architecture.
-   Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar.
-   Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and API development.
-   Experience with authentication mechanisms such as JWT, OAuth, and session management.
-   Familiarity with Git and modern version control workflows.
-   Understanding of application security, error handling, logging, and performance optimization.
-   Strong problem-solving skills with attention to code quality and maintainability.

### Good-to-Have Skills

-   Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
-   Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
-   Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
-   Experience with message brokers like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
-   Exposure to Redis or other caching technologies.
-   Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
-   Basic knowledge of GraphQL or WebSockets.
-   Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.

### Qualifications

-   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
-   **2–8 years** of professional experience in backend software development.
-   Proven experience building scalable production-grade backend applications.
-   Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
