We are looking for an experienced **AVP – Data Analytics, Internal Audit** to lead the end-to-end delivery of data analytics engagements supporting internal audit, risk management, and control assurance.

The role combines **data analytics, internal audit, risk and controls, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and advanced analytics**. You will work closely with audit teams and senior stakeholders to develop data-driven audit strategies, execute sophisticated analytics, identify control gaps, and translate complex data into actionable business insights.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating with significant autonomy, managing complex analytics projects, mentoring team members, and driving the adoption of data and technology across the internal audit function.

## Requirements

Key Responsibilities

-   Lead the end-to-end delivery of **data analytics engagements** across the internal audit lifecycle.
-   Understand business processes, risks, controls, and audit objectives to develop appropriate analytics strategies.
-   Design and execute data-driven testing approaches to assess key controls, validate audit issues, and support continuous monitoring.
-   Manage the collection, transformation, validation, and analysis of large and complex datasets.
-   Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and appropriate documentation throughout analytics engagements.
-   Develop tailored analytics use cases and embed data analytics into audit planning and execution.
-   Apply advanced analytics, automation, and emerging technologies to improve audit effectiveness and efficiency.
-   Explore opportunities to leverage **Generative AI and AI-enabled analytics** within internal audit processes.
-   Use **Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI**, and other analytics technologies to generate meaningful audit insights.
-   Partner with audit teams to interpret analytical results and translate findings into clear, actionable conclusions.
-   Communicate complex analytical concepts and results effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
-   Monitor project milestones, manage competing priorities, and ensure high-quality delivery within agreed timelines.
-   Escalate significant risks, delivery challenges, data issues, and dependencies to appropriate senior stakeholders.
-   Review analytical work produced by junior team members and provide technical guidance and constructive feedback.
-   Mentor analysts and contribute to developing technical capabilities across the data analytics team.
-   Identify opportunities to improve analytics methodologies, tools, workflows, and audit processes.
-   Build strong relationships with auditors and stakeholders and promote wider adoption of data analytics across the audit plan.
-   Support thematic reviews, integrated assurance initiatives, and broader internal audit programmes.
-   Contribute to agile approaches that improve stakeholder engagement, audit efficiency, and delivery timelines.
-   Maintain awareness of emerging industry trends, analytics technologies, AI capabilities, and internal audit practices.

What Makes You a Great Fit

-   **8+ years of relevant professional experience**, with strong hands-on experience in data analytics; experience in **Financial Services, Internal Audit, Risk, or Controls** is highly desirable.
-   Proven experience leading complex analytics projects across scoping, data preparation, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and results communication.
-   Strong understanding of **risk management, internal controls, audit processes, and control testing methodologies**.
-   Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive meaningful audit observations.
-   Advanced proficiency in **Python or similar programming languages** for data analytics.
-   Strong SQL skills and experience working with large and complex datasets.
-   Extensive experience with **Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualisation platforms**.
-   Experience building or managing complex workflows using **Alteryx** is an advantage.
-   Exposure to **AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake**, or other cloud data platforms is desirable.
-   Experience with automation technologies such as **Power Automate** is an advantage.
-   Experience developing, evaluating, or applying **Generative AI and AI-enabled analytics solutions** is highly desirable.
-   Proven ability to lead or manage analysts, review technical work, and improve team capabilities.
-   Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment.
-   Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to business and audit audiences.
-   Strong ownership, judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
-   Relevant qualifications in **Data Science, Computer Science, AI/ML, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management**, or a related discipline.
-   Professional certifications such as **CIA, CPA, CFSA, Google Data Analytics, Microsoft Power BI/Azure, AWS Data Analytics, Tableau**, or equivalent are desirable.
