We are looking for a skilled and motivated **Backend Engineer** to build scalable, reliable, and high-quality backend systems and services. The role involves developing APIs and product features using **JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js**, while working with cloud-native technologies, microservices, databases, and containerized deployments.

The ideal candidate will have strong backend engineering fundamentals, a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for building performant and maintainable systems.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Design, develop, and maintain scalable **backend services and RESTful APIs**.
-   Build new product features using **JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js**.
-   Develop backend applications using frameworks such as **Express, Fastify, or Hono**.
-   Design database schemas and write efficient, optimized SQL queries.
-   Work with relational databases such as **PostgreSQL and MySQL**.
-   Deploy and manage backend services on **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)**.
-   Containerize applications using **Docker** and support cloud-based deployments.
-   Deploy and operate services using **Google Cloud Run** or similar platforms.
-   Contribute to microservices and distributed-system development.
-   Participate in code reviews and apply engineering best practices.
-   Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve application and backend issues.
-   Improve service performance, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
-   Contribute to API, service, and workflow documentation.
-   Work closely with frontend engineers, QA, product managers, and other stakeholders.
-   Contribute to **CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and release processes**.
-   Support monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and production readiness of backend services.

### What Makes You a Great Fit

-   **3–5 years of professional experience** in backend software development.
-   Strong proficiency in **JavaScript and TypeScript**.
-   Hands-on experience with **Node.js** and modern backend frameworks such as Express, Fastify, or Hono.
-   Strong understanding of **RESTful API design, development, and best practices**.
-   Solid experience with **SQL databases**, including PostgreSQL or MySQL.
-   Good understanding of database design and **query optimization**.
-   Hands-on experience with **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)** services.

-   Exposure to **Infrastructure as Code (IaC)** tools such as Terraform is desirable.
