Location: Hyderabad

Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for an experienced **Senior Quality Engineer** to provide technical leadership for test architecture, automation frameworks, and quality engineering within a complex **Identity** domain.

This role goes beyond test execution and requires strong software engineering and framework-design capabilities. You will make architectural decisions, build shared test infrastructure consumed by multiple engineering teams, establish automation standards, and own the end-to-end quality strategy for complex Identity features.

The ideal candidate will combine expert-level **Java and TypeScript** development skills with advanced experience in **Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, CI/CD, and scalable test automation architecture**.

## Requirements

### KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Design scalable **test automation architecture and shared infrastructure** for complex Identity applications.
- Build reusable Java and TypeScript frameworks, libraries, utilities, and components consumed across multiple engineering teams.
- Architect multi-layered Java class hierarchies, generic utilities, builder patterns, custom annotations, and reflection-based test configurations.
- Implement thread-safe utilities and concurrency patterns to support reliable parallel test execution.
- Design and maintain strongly typed TypeScript framework libraries, fixture systems, configuration managers, and reusable test utilities.
- Architect advanced **Selenium WebDriver** frameworks, including custom decorators, network proxy integrations, cross-browser abstractions, Shadow DOM utilities, and remote grid execution.
- Design advanced **Playwright** frameworks with shared fixtures, request interception, multi-project configurations, parallel workers, retries, and trace-based debugging.
- Build matrix-testing solutions that expand test coverage across multiple **clients, regions, devices, browsers, and environments**.
- Develop reusable API clients, account-management utilities, feature-flag integrations, test-data frameworks, and environment configuration systems.
- Design CI/CD quality gates and automated testing pipelines using **GitHub Actions** and configurable test scopes.
- Integrate test frameworks with reporting and collaboration platforms such as **ReportPortal and Teams webhooks**.
- Diagnose and resolve complex automation, browser-grid, infrastructure, and CI reliability issues.
- Profile and optimise test infrastructure performance, reliability, maintainability, and execution speed.
- Establish coding, automation, framework, and quality engineering standards across teams.
- Conduct technical design reviews and provide guidance on test architecture and automation strategy.
- Mentor P1/P2 engineers and contribute to their technical development.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, QA teams, architects, and product stakeholders to improve overall product quality.
- Define and own the end-to-end quality strategy for complex Identity features and integrations.
- Continuously improve test coverage, automation reliability, debugging capabilities, and engineering productivity.

### WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

- **5+ years of experience** in software quality engineering, test automation, SDET, or a closely related engineering role.
- Expert-level **Java** programming skills with strong knowledge of object-oriented design, generics, concurrency, reflection, annotations, and reusable framework architecture.
- Expert-level **TypeScript** skills with experience building typed libraries, generic utilities, fixtures, decorators, and maintainable module architectures.
- Advanced hands-on experience designing automation frameworks using **Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright**.
- Strong understanding of test architecture, framework design, reusable abstractions, and large-scale automation infrastructure.
- Experience building automation frameworks consumed by **multiple teams or large engineering organisations**.
- Strong knowledge of parallel test execution, thread safety, distributed test execution, retries, timeouts, and CI reliability.
- Experience with browser automation across **desktop, mobile, tablet, Safari, and other cross-browser environments**.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting remote browser grids, cloud testing platforms, device capabilities, session timeouts, and infrastructure-level issues.
- Strong experience with **Playwright fixtures, multi-project configurations, request interception, tracing, and matrix testing**.
- Experience designing **Selenium proxy integrations, custom WebDriver capabilities, Shadow DOM utilities, and cross-browser abstractions**.
- Strong CI/CD experience, particularly with **GitHub Actions** and configurable automated testing pipelines.
- Experience integrating automated tests with reporting, monitoring, and collaboration systems.
- Strong debugging, performance optimisation, code-review, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to design systems that are readable, maintainable, scalable, and reliable for long-term use.
- Strong understanding of API testing, authentication, retries, error handling, environment configuration, and test-data management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across QA and development teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, establish technical standards, and provide architectural leadership.
