We are seeking an experienced **Sr. Linux Systems Engineer** with 7–9 years of hands-on experience in Linux administration, virtualization, storage, server hardware, networking, and infrastructure automation. The role involves managing production infrastructure, ensuring system availability, implementing security standards, and automating operational processes.

## Requirements

**Key Responsibilities**

**Linux System Administration**

-   Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot **SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, and Rocky Linux**.
-   Manage OS upgrades, patching, package management, and system configuration.
-   Troubleshoot complex OS, kernel, filesystem, and system-level issues.

**Virtualization & Storage**

-   Support **VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter Server**, including VM lifecycle management.
-   Manage **Proxmox** environments for VM and container workloads.
-   Manage and troubleshoot **NFS and CIFS/SMB file shares**.
-   Support storage connectivity, capacity, performance, and availability.

**Server, Hardware & Data Center**

-   Strong knowledge of **server hardware, networking, storage, BIOS, firmware, and OOB management**.
-   Diagnose and resolve hardware and infrastructure-level issues.
-   Support hardware installation, upgrades, and maintenance.

**Performance & Security**

-   Monitor system health, resource utilization, capacity, and performance.
-   Troubleshoot CPU, memory, disk, and network bottlenecks.
-   Implement system hardening, access controls, security patching, and vulnerability remediation.

**Automation & Scripting**

-   Develop automation scripts using **Bash, Python, or Perl**.
-   Automate administration tasks using **Ansible and/or Salt**.
-   Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation.

**Production Support & Collaboration**

-   Provide advanced Linux and infrastructure production support.
-   Perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
-   Collaborate with **DevOps, Cloud, Networking, Storage, Security, and Development teams**.
-   Support application deployments, migrations, and infrastructure projects.

**Documentation**

-   Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, standards, and troubleshooting guides.
-   Create and maintain operational runbooks.

**Required Skills & Qualifications**

-   **7–9 years** of experience as a Linux System Administrator, Systems Engineer, or similar role.
-   Strong Linux administration skills across **SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, and/or Rocky Linux**.
-   Good understanding of **Linux kernel, filesystems, system initialization, processes, and networking**.
-   Hands-on experience with **VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and Proxmox**.
-   Strong knowledge of **NFS, CIFS/SMB, server hardware, storage, BIOS, and OOB management**.
-   Hands-on experience with **Ansible and/or Salt**.
-   Strong **Bash scripting** skills; Python/Perl is an advantage.
-   Working knowledge of **AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud**.
-   Good understanding of **TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SSH, and firewall concepts**.
-   Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with good communication abilities.

**Preferred Skills**

-   Enterprise **data-center infrastructure** experience.
-   Infrastructure automation and configuration management.
-   System monitoring and performance-management tools.
-   Exposure to containers and cloud-native infrastructure.
