We are looking for an experienced **SDE 3 Backend Engineer** to design, develop, and scale high-performance backend systems and services. This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who can take ownership of complex backend problems, contribute to architectural decisions, and build reliable systems that support business-critical applications.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in **Backend Development and Backend Engineering**, with hands-on experience building scalable APIs, distributed services, data-intensive applications, and production-grade systems. You will work closely with product, frontend, infrastructure, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver robust and maintainable solutions.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available backend services and applications.
-   Build robust **RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend components** that can handle high-volume traffic and complex business requirements.
-   Take ownership of backend features from requirement analysis and technical design through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
-   Participate in system architecture and technical design discussions, contributing to scalable and sustainable engineering solutions.
-   Identify performance bottlenecks and improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and resource utilization.
-   Design efficient data models and work with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
-   Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, and production-ready code following engineering best practices.
-   Develop automated unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
-   Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
-   Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, QA engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
-   Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to improve code quality and engineering standards.
-   Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to improving development processes and technical practices.
-   Stay updated with modern backend technologies, engineering practices, and architectural patterns.

-   Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL and/or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis.

-   Experience working with cloud platforms and modern deployment environments.
-   Good understanding of CI/CD, version control, logging, monitoring, and production debugging.
-   Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to independently handle complex technical challenges.

### Good-to-Have Skills

-   Experience designing highly distributed and fault-tolerant systems.
-   Knowledge of message queues and event-driven architectures such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
-   Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
-   Exposure to system design and large-scale application architecture.
-   Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
-   Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.

### Experience & Qualifications

-   **5–8 years of professional experience in backend development/engineering.**
-   Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
-   Strong track record of delivering production-grade backend applications and services.
-   Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
