We are looking for an experienced **Frontend Architect** to lead the design and evolution of large-scale, modern web applications. This role is ideal for someone who has spent **10+ years building production-grade web applications**, including **2–4 years of owning frontend architecture**, where you were responsible for defining architectural direction rather than simply contributing as a senior individual contributor.

As a Frontend Architect, you will establish technical standards, design scalable frontend systems, and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver performant, maintainable, and user-centric applications. You will influence long-term engineering strategy while mentoring developers and driving engineering excellence across multiple products.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

- Define and own the frontend architecture for complex web platforms and enterprise-scale applications.
- Design modular, reusable, and scalable frontend systems with clearly defined module boundaries and ownership.
- Establish architectural guidelines, coding standards, design patterns, and best practices across frontend teams.
- Collaborate with product managers, backend architects, designers, and engineering leaders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Drive architectural decisions involving state management, routing, performance optimization, rendering strategies, and component libraries.
- Lead initiatives around frontend observability, testing, accessibility, security, and maintainability.
- Review technical designs, conduct architecture reviews, and provide mentorship to senior and mid-level engineers.
- Evaluate emerging frontend technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate.
- Ensure applications deliver exceptional user experience across browsers and devices while maintaining high performance.
- Partner with DevOps and platform engineering teams to improve deployment pipelines, monitoring, and frontend infrastructure.

### Required Qualifications

- 8–20 years of professional software engineering experience.
- **10+ years of hands-on experience building production web applications.**
- **2–4 years of demonstrated ownership of frontend architecture**, including designing application structure, defining module boundaries, managing shared libraries, and driving architectural decisions across engineering teams.
- Strong expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Extensive experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, with deep expertise in at least one.
- Strong understanding of component-driven architecture, design systems, micro-frontends, and scalable frontend engineering practices.
- Experience designing maintainable state management solutions and data flow architectures.
- Solid understanding of frontend performance optimization, caching strategies, lazy loading, code splitting, and bundle optimization.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, version control, and modern development workflows.
- Excellent communication, technical leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

### Good-to-Have Skills

Candidates with experience in collaborative editing technologies and distributed application architecture will have a strong advantage, including:

- Real-time collaboration systems.
- **Yjs** and CRDT-based collaborative applications.
- **Automerge** for distributed state synchronization.
- Operational Transforms (OT) and collaborative document editing.
- Conflict-free Replicated Data Types (CRDTs).
- WebSockets, Server-Sent Events (SSE), or WebRTC.
- Offline-first application architecture and synchronization strategies.
- Event-driven frontend architectures and distributed systems concepts.

### Preferred Profile

- Proven ability to lead frontend architecture across multiple teams and products.
- Strong architectural thinking with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and developer experience.
- Experience balancing technical excellence with business priorities.
- Passion for mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of engineering best practices.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs and make sound architectural decisions for long-term product success.
