We are looking for a mature, hands-on **Senior Technical Lead – Product Releases & Engineering** to bring structure, predictability, and ownership to the engineering and product release lifecycle.

The role sits at the intersection of **Product, Delivery, Architecture, and Engineering**, with primary responsibility for coordinating developers, features, integrations, and code changes into stable, high-quality SaaS releases.

This is neither a purely managerial position nor simply a senior developer role. The successful candidate will remain technically hands-on while taking ownership of release coordination, engineering discipline, technical delivery, production reliability, and continuous improvement.

## Requirements

### KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-   Own and coordinate the complete product release lifecycle across **Development, Test/QA, UAT, Production, and Monitoring**.
-   Coordinate release scope with Product and Delivery teams, maintaining clear visibility of features, fixes, dependencies, and risks.
-   Conduct technical release-readiness checks and ensure development, code reviews, integration, and testing are completed before deployment.
-   Coordinate application, API, database, and configuration changes across environments.
-   Manage Git branching, release branches, versioning, merges, hotfixes, and production fixes.
-   Coordinate deployments across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
-   Support UAT issue resolution and provide technical **Go/No-Go recommendations** for releases.
-   Ensure rollback, recovery, and production support procedures are clearly defined and understood.
-   Validate production releases and coordinate post-release monitoring and issue resolution.
-   Maintain visibility of engineering progress and dependencies across frontend, backend, databases, and integrations.
-   Identify blockers and technical risks early and drive them towards resolution.
-   Coordinate cross-functional development work where features span multiple components or services.
-   Strengthen **pull-request, code-review, Git, branching, merge, and version-control practices**.
-   Establish and maintain release-readiness criteria and Definition of Done standards.
-   Improve automated build, testing, deployment, code-coverage, and CI/CD practices.
-   Strengthen environment management, logging, monitoring, documentation, incident management, and RCA processes.
-   Manage technical debt and promote secure and maintainable development practices.
-   Lead production incident response, assess severity and impact, and coordinate engineering teams during investigations.
-   Manage hotfixes and emergency releases while maintaining appropriate technical and communication controls.
-   Conduct root-cause reviews and ensure preventative actions are implemented.
-   Review code and technical implementations, challenge design decisions where appropriate, and provide hands-on technical guidance.
-   Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, release reliability, and production operations.
-   Support adoption of AI technologies such as **LLMs, agents, RAG, MCP, LangGraph/LangChain, OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini** where relevant.

### WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT

-   **5+ years of software engineering experience** with meaningful technical leadership responsibility in a production SaaS environment.
-   Proven experience personally owning or leading **software releases across Dev, Test, UAT, and Production**environments.
-   Strong hands-on expertise with **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)** for deployment, operations, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.
-   Strong experience with **GitHub**, including repository management, pull requests, branching strategies, merge management, permissions, and code reviews.
-   Hands-on experience with **GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation**.
-   Strong understanding of release management, deployment processes, release readiness, versioning, and code consolidation.
-   Strong programming experience with **React/React.js, Python, REST APIs, backend services, and relational databases such as MySQL**.
-   Experience troubleshooting production SaaS applications and resolving complex technical issues.
-   Strong understanding of automated testing, code quality, logging, monitoring, incident management, and root-cause analysis.
-   Experience coordinating engineers across frontend, backend, database, and integration workstreams.
-   Proven ability to work effectively with **Product Owners, Technical Architects, Delivery Managers, QA, and engineering teams**.
-   Strong technical judgement with the ability to decide when to proceed, challenge an approach, or escalate a risk.
-   Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive outcomes rather than simply coordinate activities.
-   Excellent organisation and communication skills, particularly during releases, incidents, and high-pressure situations.
-   Ability to guide and mentor developers without micromanaging.
-   Strong quality mindset with the ability to balance delivery speed, reliability, security, and maintainability.
-   Experience in **AI applications, LLMs, AI agents, RAG, MCP, LangGraph, LangChain, OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini** is an advantage.
-   Comfortable working in a fast-paced SaaS environment with evolving priorities and multiple technical dependencies.
