We are seeking an experienced and visionary **Director of Quality Engineering** to lead and scale our Quality Engineering function. This leadership role is responsible for driving quality strategy, establishing engineering excellence, and ensuring the delivery of highly reliable, scalable, and secure software products. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in **Quality Engineering, SDET practices, Software Testing, QA Automation, and Test Strategy**, along with proven experience leading large QA organizations in fast-paced product and technology environments.

As a key member of the engineering leadership team, you will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, and Business stakeholders to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle. You will champion modern testing methodologies, automation-first approaches, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Define and execute the organization-wide Quality Engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap.
-   Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams of Quality Engineers, SDETs, Test Architects, and QA Managers.
-   Establish scalable quality processes, standards, and best practices across multiple product lines and engineering teams.
-   Drive the adoption of automation frameworks, continuous testing, and quality metrics to improve product reliability and release confidence.
-   Oversee test planning, test execution, regression testing, performance testing, integration testing, and end-to-end validation activities.
-   Collaborate with engineering leadership to implement quality gates within CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
-   Develop and monitor KPIs related to product quality, defect leakage, test coverage, automation effectiveness, and release readiness.
-   Lead risk assessment activities and ensure proactive identification and mitigation of quality-related issues.
-   Foster a culture of quality ownership across development and product teams.
-   Evaluate emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies to continuously enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
-   Ensure compliance with organizational, security, regulatory, and customer quality requirements.
-   Drive root cause analysis initiatives and implement preventive quality measures across the development lifecycle.

### Required Qualifications

-   Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
-   10–20 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Testing, SDET, or Quality Engineering roles.
-   Significant experience leading Quality Engineering teams in enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, or product-based organizations.
-   Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test lifecycle management, defect management, and quality governance.
-   Expertise in test automation frameworks, automation strategy, and quality engineering best practices.
-   Experience with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps development environments.
-   Proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence engineering and business stakeholders.
-   Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
-   Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement.

### Good-to-Have Skills

-   Advanced expertise in **Quality Engineering** transformation initiatives.
-   Strong background in **SDET**, test automation architecture, and framework development.
-   Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, distributed systems, and API testing.
-   Knowledge of performance, scalability, reliability, and security testing practices.
-   Familiarity with AI-assisted testing, test data management, and modern quality platforms.
-   Experience implementing quality metrics dashboards and engineering excellence programs.
-   Exposure to large-scale digital transformation and modernization projects.
-   Relevant certifications in Quality Assurance, Agile, Scrum, or Testing methodologies.
