Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for a skilled **Mechanical Design Engineer** to design and develop mechanical structures, enclosures, and packaging solutions for electronic hardware. The role will involve ensuring that designs meet **mechanical, thermal, structural, and manufacturing requirements** while supporting the successful delivery of electronic hardware projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong fundamentals in mechanical design, thermal engineering, mechanics of solids, heat transfer, engineering drawings, GD&T, and mechanical calculations. You will work closely with PCB and electronic design engineers to develop optimised, reliable, and manufacturable solutions.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop **mechanical components, structures, enclosures, and packaging** for electronic hardware.
- Develop mechanical designs that meet required **thermal, structural, vibration, and mechanical performance**criteria.
- Perform hand calculations related to **thermal design, heat transfer, vibration, and structural analysis**.
- Conduct preliminary thermal and structural assessments and recommend appropriate design solutions.
- Collaborate closely with **PCB designers and electronic design engineers** to develop integrated and optimised hardware solutions.
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate technical feedback and required design changes.
- Optimise mechanical designs for **performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost**.
- Ensure mechanical designs are completed in line with project schedules and engineering requirements.
- Create detailed **manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation**.
- Apply appropriate engineering drawing conventions, tolerances, symbols, and **GD&T** principles.
- Develop and maintain accurate **Bills of Materials (BOMs)** for mechanical assemblies and components.
- Support prototype development, manufacturing, assembly, and design validation activities as required.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve mechanical design and integration issues.
- Ensure final designs and documentation meet applicable engineering and manufacturing standards.

### What Makes You a Great Fit

- **3–6 years of experience** in mechanical design, preferably involving **electronic/electrical hardware and mechanical components**.
- Bachelor's degree (**BE/B.Tech**) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong fundamentals in **mechanical design, thermal design, mechanics of solids, and heat transfer**.
- Good understanding of **vibration, structural design, and engineering hand calculations**.
- Strong knowledge of engineering drawing conventions, symbols, tolerancing, drafting, and detailing.
- Good working knowledge of **GD&T, assembly drawings, and BOM preparation**.
- Hands-on experience with **SolidWorks and AutoCAD**.
- Experience designing mechanical packaging or enclosures for electronic hardware is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret and develop detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
- Strong understanding of design-for-manufacturing and practical mechanical engineering principles.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with PCB, electronics, manufacturing, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple design activities and deliver engineering work within defined project timelines.
