We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Node.js and Python to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems in a fast-paced fintech environment. In this role, you will contribute to developing high-performance backend services, ensuring system reliability, and enabling seamless integration with third-party fintech APIs, including US-based platforms like Plaid. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable solutions that support financial workflows and customer-facing applications. This position offers the opportunity to work on modern cloud-native architectures in a hybrid setup based in Bangalore, while contributing to products serving global fintech use cases.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and Python.
-   Build and manage RESTful APIs for internal and external system integrations.
-   Integrate third-party fintech APIs such as Plaid and other financial data providers.
-   Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployment workflows.
-   Containerize applications using Docker and deploy services on Kubernetes clusters.
-   Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance.
-   Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA teams for feature delivery.
-   Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
-   Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
-   Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards.

### What Makes You a Great Fit

-   3–6 years of experience in backend development with strong hands-on expertise in Node.js and Python.
-   Experience building and maintaining REST APIs in production environments.
-   Strong understanding of fintech systems and financial data workflows is highly preferred.
-   Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and scaling.
-   Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
-   Exposure to US fintech APIs such as Plaid is a strong advantage.
-   Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
-   Good understanding of scalable backend architecture and system design principles.
