We are looking for an experienced and technically strong **Head – Engineering & Utilities** to lead the complete Engineering and Utilities function at a large-scale manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for ensuring the **safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operation** of critical plant utilities, engineering infrastructure, and related systems.

This is a high-ownership leadership position requiring strong technical expertise, hands-on problem-solving capabilities, engineering project experience, and the ability to lead internal teams and external service partners. The role will play a critical part in improving plant reliability, energy and water efficiency, infrastructure performance, and overall operational excellence.

## Requirements

Key Responsibilities

-   Own the overall **Engineering & Utilities function** for the manufacturing site.
-   Ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective operation of plant engineering infrastructure and utility systems.
-   Oversee operation and maintenance of **boilers, compressors, chillers, nitrogen systems, pumps, piping networks**, and other critical utilities.
-   Develop and implement engineering and utilities strategies aligned with plant production and operational requirements.
-   Establish and strengthen preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability.
-   Monitor utility performance, identify recurring issues, and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
-   Assess plant infrastructure, identify capacity and reliability gaps, and develop improvement and modernization plans.
-   Drive initiatives to improve **energy efficiency, water efficiency, utility consumption, and operating costs**.
-   Develop responsible water-management practices and reduce water losses and unnecessary consumption.
-   Lead engineering projects, equipment upgrades, plant modifications, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
-   Coordinate closely with **Electrical and Instrumentation & Automation teams** to ensure integrated and reliable plant operations.
-   Manage external O&M partners, contractors, and technical service providers to ensure performance, safety, and service quality.
-   Establish appropriate engineering standards, maintenance practices, technical procedures, and operational controls.
-   Ensure compliance with applicable engineering, safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
-   Lead, mentor, and develop the Engineering & Utilities team while building strong technical capabilities.
-   Coordinate with Manufacturing, EHS, Projects, Procurement, and other functions to resolve engineering and utility-related challenges.
-   Monitor key utility and engineering performance indicators and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
-   Prepare and present **utility performance, risks, reliability issues, improvement plans, and investment requirements** to senior leadership.
-   Support long-term infrastructure planning, budgeting, cost optimisation, and engineering capital expenditure decisions.

What Makes You a Great Fit

-   **15+ years of experience** in Engineering, Utilities, Maintenance, Plant Engineering, or a closely related function within a manufacturing environment.
-   Proven experience leading the **Engineering & Utilities function** of a manufacturing plant or large industrial facility.
-   Strong technical knowledge of **boilers, compressors, chillers, nitrogen systems, pumps, piping, and industrial utility systems**.
-   Strong understanding of plant engineering, utility operations, preventive maintenance, reliability, and infrastructure management.
-   Experience leading engineering projects, plant upgrades, equipment modifications, and infrastructure improvement programs.
-   Proven ability to drive **energy efficiency, water conservation, utility optimisation, and cost-reduction initiatives**.
-   Strong hands-on problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities.
-   Experience managing internal engineering teams, contractors, vendors, and outsourced **O&M partners**.
-   Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across Manufacturing, Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation, EHS, Projects, and other plant functions.
-   Good understanding of industrial safety, maintenance standards, compliance requirements, and engineering best practices.
-   Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret utility performance data and identify improvement opportunities.
-   Experience with budgeting, cost control, capital projects, and infrastructure planning.
-   Strong leadership, people-management, mentoring, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
-   Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical risks and improvement plans to senior leadership.
-   Ability to work effectively in a complex, high-ownership manufacturing environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
