**Job description**  
We’re looking for a Product Engineer with 3–5 years of experience who is passionate about building high-quality, scalable systems. You will contribute to the development of backend & frontend services for our product, working closely with experienced engineers, designers, and product stakeholders.

In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in modern backend technologies, cloud-native development, and microservices architecture, while helping deliver reliable and performant features.

## Requirements

**Roles and Responsibilities**

-   Contribute to the design and development of backend services and APIs
-   Develop new features using JavaScript / TypeScript (Node.js)
-   Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices
-   Work with SQL databases to design schemas and write efficient queries
-   Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially using Cloud Run
-   Containerise applications using Docker
-   Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality
-   Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve backend issues and bugs
-   Assist in improving the performance, reliability, and scalability of services
-   Contribute to documentation for APIs, services, and workflows
-   Work closely with frontend engineers, QA, and product managers

**Job requirement**

**Must Have**

-   3–5 years of experience in backend development.
-   Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
-   Hands-on experience with Node.js and backend frameworks (e.g., Express, Fastify, Hono).
-   Solid understanding of RESTful API design and best practices.
-   Strong experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimisation.
-   Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
-   Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised deployments.
-   Experience deploying and managing applications on Cloud Run or similar platforms.
-   Basic understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
-   Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
-   Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

**Good to Have**

-   Experience with messaging systems like Pub/Sub, Kafka, or similar.
-   Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., Firestore, MongoDB).
-   Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
-   Experience with monitoring and observability tools (logs, metrics, tracing).
-   Knowledge of system design fundamentals and scalability concepts.
-   Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
-   Prior experience in SaaS or high-traffic applications.
