We are looking for an experienced **Head – Water & Utilities** to take end-to-end ownership of large-scale campus water and wastewater infrastructure. The role will focus on ensuring the **safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable operation of an integrated water ecosystem of approximately 4 MLD**, covering water sourcing, treatment, storage, distribution, wastewater treatment, recycling, and conservation.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise across **WTP, STP/ETP, RO, softeners, pumping systems, water distribution, water-quality management, and utility operations**. The role requires particular focus on maintaining uninterrupted water availability for critical institutional and healthcare operations while driving compliance, sustainability, maintenance reliability, and cost optimisation.

## Requirements

Key Responsibilities

-   Lead end-to-end operation of the campus **water and wastewater infrastructure**, including an approximately 4 MLD integrated water ecosystem.
-   Manage raw-water sourcing through municipal supply, borewells, tankers, and other approved sources.
-   Operate and monitor **WTP, filtration, chlorination/disinfection, RO, softener, and water-treatment systems**.
-   Ensure adequate treated-water storage and uninterrupted distribution across the campus.
-   Monitor critical water-quality parameters including pH, TDS, hardness, turbidity, residual chlorine, and microbiological parameters.
-   Ensure reliable **24×7 water supply** to critical hospital and institutional operations.
-   Manage water requirements for clinical areas including OT, ICU, laboratories, dialysis, CSSD, laundry, and other utility facilities.
-   Operate and monitor **STP/ETP systems**, treatment performance, sludge management, and treated-water quality.
-   Maximise the approved reuse of treated wastewater for flushing, landscaping, cooling/HVAC, and other non-potable applications.
-   Manage raw-water, transfer, booster, domestic-water, STP/ETP, and flushing-water pumping systems.
-   Maintain UG/OH tanks, sumps, valves, pipelines, and associated water-distribution infrastructure.
-   Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical water and utility equipment.
-   Establish adequate standby capacity, critical spares, and emergency-response plans.
-   Maintain daily **water balance and source-wise consumption monitoring** across hospital, school, residential, landscaping, and utility facilities.
-   Implement metering, leak detection, consumption benchmarking, and initiatives to reduce freshwater and tanker dependency.
-   Lead water conservation programs covering **rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, recycling, smart metering, and efficiency improvements**.
-   Ensure compliance with applicable water, wastewater, environmental, safety, and institutional requirements.
-   Maintain operational records covering water consumption, extraction, tanker supply, treatment operations, quality testing, chemicals, sludge, maintenance, and inspections.
-   Lead WTP/STP operators, technicians, plumbers, and utility personnel while ensuring appropriate 24×7 manpower coverage.
-   Manage AMC/O&M vendors, OEMs, contractors, and specialist agencies and monitor performance against agreed SLAs.
-   Prepare operational, maintenance, compliance, and management reports and drive continuous improvement.

What Makes You a Great Fit

-   **5+ years of relevant experience** in large-scale water, wastewater, utilities, or institutional infrastructure management.
-   B.E./B.Tech in **Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering**, or a related engineering discipline.
-   Strong hands-on experience with **WTP, STP/ETP, RO, softeners, pumping, storage, and water-distribution systems**.
-   Experience managing **2 MLD+ water infrastructure**, with 4 MLD or larger systems strongly preferred.
-   Proven experience managing complex, integrated water and wastewater infrastructure rather than only building-level plumbing operations.
-   Strong understanding of water-quality monitoring, treatment processes, pumping systems, and utility operations.
-   Experience managing **24×7 critical utility operations** with high availability and reliability requirements.
-   Experience in hospitals, universities, residential schools, townships, hotels, large campuses, or similar institutional environments is preferred.
-   Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance, breakdown management, and infrastructure reliability.
-   Experience with **water conservation, recycling, rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and freshwater optimisation**.
-   Exposure to **BMS/SCADA, automated water metering, utility dashboards, or smart monitoring systems** is an advantage.
-   Strong vendor, contractor, OEM, and AMC management experience.
-   Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary utility teams and manage shift-based operations.
-   Strong understanding of environmental, water, wastewater, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
-   Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage emergencies and critical infrastructure issues.
-   Excellent communication, coordination, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
-   Hands-on, proactive approach with strong ownership of **reliability, safety, sustainability, compliance, and operational cost efficiency**.
