We are looking for an accomplished and technically strong **Associate Engineering Director** with **21–25 years of experience** to lead large-scale engineering initiatives, drive technical strategy, and build high-performing engineering teams. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on expertise in **C++ and Python**, combined with extensive experience in software architecture, system design, engineering leadership, and delivering complex products at scale.

This role requires a leader who can operate effectively at both strategic and technical levels—working closely with engineering, product, architecture, and business stakeholders while maintaining a strong focus on engineering excellence, scalability, reliability, and innovation.

## Requirements

### Key Responsibilities

-   Define and execute engineering strategy aligned with broader product and business objectives.
-   Lead multiple engineering teams and provide technical direction across complex software development initiatives.
-   Drive architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of highly scalable systems.
-   Provide deep technical guidance on **C++-based software development**, including performance optimization, concurrency, memory management, and system-level programming.
-   Leverage **Python** for automation, tooling, backend services, data processing, testing frameworks, and engineering productivity initiatives.
-   Review and influence technical architecture, design decisions, coding standards, and development methodologies.
-   Build and mentor senior engineering leaders, architects, and experienced software engineers.
-   Establish engineering best practices around code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and operational excellence.
-   Partner closely with Product Management, Program Management, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.
-   Manage technical risks, dependencies, resource planning, and delivery priorities across multiple projects.
-   Promote a culture of innovation, ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
-   Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, development velocity, system performance, and overall product quality.
-   Stay current with evolving technologies, architectural patterns, development practices, and industry trends.

### Must-Have Skills

-   **21–25 years of overall software engineering experience**, with substantial experience in technical and engineering leadership roles.
-   Strong and demonstrable expertise in **C++**, including modern C++, object-oriented programming, STL, multithreading, concurrency, memory management, debugging, and performance optimization.
-   Strong proficiency in **Python** for software development, automation, scripting, tooling, testing, or backend engineering.
-   Extensive experience designing and developing **large-scale, distributed, high-performance, and highly reliable software systems**.
-   Strong understanding of **system architecture, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles**.
-   Proven experience leading large or multi-disciplinary engineering teams and mentoring senior technical talent.
-   Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, engineering processes, and software quality practices.
-   Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
-   Strong problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.

### Good-to-Have Skills

-   Experience with cloud platforms, distributed systems, microservices, containers, and modern DevOps practices.
-   Exposure to AI/ML, data-intensive applications, embedded systems, networking, or other technically complex domains.
-   Experience managing engineering managers, architects, and senior technical leaders.
-   Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, automated testing, and production reliability practices.
-   Experience working in global or geographically distributed engineering organizations.
