This is a senior position within the company. You will serve as a trusted advisor for key engineering decisions. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the delivery and overall design of multiple modules under your management. ## Requirements

**Required Experience and Skills**

-   7-9 years of software development experience in startups during their growth phase.
-   Innate problem solver with a data-driven approach to decision making.
-   Strong expertise in software architecture, application design, and development.
-   Hands-on experience in building and scaling systems using Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, SQS/Kafka/AMQ, Redis, NoSQL databases, web services, and performance optimization.
-   Background in developing ERP software products along with solid knowledge of cloud infrastructure.
-   Excellent communication skills for proposing and reviewing engineering designs.
-   Proven track record of delivering end-to-end projects (from zero to one) with clearly defined impact metrics.
-   Ability to clarify ambiguous problem statements and break down multi-quarter projects into phased launches.
-   Experience in creating systems that serve at least 100,000 users.
-   Experience developing microservices capable of handling over 100 queries per second in production environments.
-   Minimum of 3 years experience leading or mentoring senior developers.
-   Experience with ReactJS is a plus.
-   Experience in enterprise SaaS environments is a plus.
-   Demonstrated expertise leveraging AI tools and implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, with a history of building AI agents or applying AI technologies in engineering projects is advantageous.

**Job Description**

-   Lead the scaling of our multi-tenant SaaS software architecture to support 10 million students.
-   Continuously measure system performance and perform tuning to achieve optimal results.
-   Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
-   Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize infrastructure costs, supported by impactful cost metrics.
-   Develop prototypes, set up infrastructure, and establish frameworks for future development in a hands-on capacity.
-   Strive for engineering excellence and maintain high standards of quality.
-   Enhance the software development lifecycle (SDLC) process through technical contributions.
-   Analyze product requirements to define non-functional requirements and propose both short-term and long-term solutions with high-level estimates.
-   Create integration platforms using appropriate frameworks and tools, connecting multiple third-party systems.
-   Typically expected to independently manage your task list and schedule without supervision, delivering timely results supported by metrics.
-   Identify and escalate concerns related to processes, budgets, teams, etc., and develop resolution plans in collaboration with the Engineering Manager and CTO.
-   Work closely with engineering teams—including Developers, QA, DevOps, and UX/UI—to ensure a seamless development process.
-   Communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
-   Engage constructively with stakeholders to prioritize bugs, features, and support tasks, facilitating business continuity as needed.
-   Management expects you to efficiently manage your time with minimal to no supervision, evaluating performance based on impact metrics rather than hours worked.
