## Description

Western Engineering Company Inc. is an asphalt paving company that is employee-owned and we are growing! We have stationary asphalt plants located in Council Bluffs Iowa, Fort Calhoun Nebraska as well as portable plants for mobile operations in Nebraska and Iowa.

We are seeking an experienced **Truck Foreman** and, in this role, you will be responsible for supervising company drivers, coordinating equipment and material deliveries, maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, and ensuring trucks and equipment are operating safely and efficiently. This position works closely with project managers, dispatch, mechanics, and field crews to support successful paving operations.

### Responsibilities

-   Supervise and coordinate truck drivers and hauling operations

-   Ensure materials are delivered safely and on time
-   Perform pre-job planning with project managers
-   Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies
-   Coordinate truck maintenance and report repair needs
-   Monitor driver performance, attendance, and productivity
-   Assist with hiring, training, and mentoring new drivers
-   Communicate effectively with project managers and field personnel
-   Respond quickly to scheduling changes and job site issues.

## Requirements

-   Pass pre-employment drug screening
-   Minimum 3–5 years of experience in asphalt construction, trucking, or related heavy civil construction

-   Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
-   Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and trucking operations
-   Ability to work flexible hours, including seasonal overtime
-   A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is preferred)
-   Excellent communication and organizational skills
-   Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
