**Workplace:** remote

## Description

**We are Looking for an Operations Manager Who Actually Wants to Improve Things**

Our client operates a profitable SaaS company with well-established foundations: operations run smoothly, finance closes on schedule, customer success is well-managed, and compliance is firmly in place. The challenge is no longer building these functions but optimizing them. Too many responsibilities have been consolidated under too few roles, and the current structure has reached its limit.

The outgoing Business Operations Manager spent years establishing solid systems, documented processes, and a reliable monthly cadence. What the company now needs is a successor who can look at every existing workflow with a critical eye and ask: what can be streamlined, automated, or eliminated entirely?

## Requirements

You'll own:

- The monthly financial close – P&L prep, revenue reconciliation, contractor invoices, payments processed Tax and compliance – Coordinating with our CPA, maintaining corporate records, managing insurance.
- Customer operations – Legal documents (DPAs, NDAs, SLAs), account support, refunds, billing issues.
- People operations – Contractor onboarding, compensation tracking.
- Process improvement – Automation, updating SOPs, and proposing better ways to do things.

**The first month will feel familiar. By month two, you'll have ideas. By month three, you'll have implemented them**.

### Who We Think You Are

- You've done this before. At least 4 years running operations end-to-end—not just executing one step someone else designed. You've owned processes from "here's the problem" to "here's the solution and it's working."
- You're financially literate. You're comfortable with QuickBooks or similar tools. You can
- generate a P&L that's right. You don't need to be an accountant, but you need to understand the numbers.
- You actually use AI tools. Not "interested in AI." Not "aware of AI." You use ChatGPT, Claude, or other tools in real work. You know what they're good for and keep learning.
- You write well. A lot of this job is email—to lawyers, accountants, customers. Your emails are clear, professional, and get things done.
- You're detail-oriented about things that matter. Tax deadlines? Legal consequences?
- Confidential payment information? You don't forget these. You also know the difference between important and busywork.
- You want to improve things. You see a monthly checklist and think "why are we doing half of this?" You get excited about automation, not annoyed by it.

## Benefits

- This is a real operations role in a small, lean company. Everyone here is senior. There's no middle management layer.
- You report to the CEO. There's also no one to chase you or micromanage you—that's the trade-off.
- The work is varied: some months are purely financial close rhythms. Other months you're coordinating with lawyers on customer contracts or sorting out compliance issues. Some weeks you're helping with hiring logistics. It's not glamorous, but it's crucial.
- The company is remote and profitable. No VC panic. No pivot every quarter. No death march. Just solid recurring revenue and the need to keep operations clean as we scale.

### Why This Might Be You

- You've done finance ops or business operations in a SaaS or B2B company and got really good at it. You've probably also noticed that half the processes you inherited were designed by someone in a crisis and never revisited. This role lets you actually fix that.
- You're probably at a point where you want leverage—a role where better operations directly impact company profitability and risk. You're tired of being part of a larger ops team where you only touch one step of a process.
- You might also like the idea of remote work where people trust you to do good work without surveillance. Where "looking busy" isn't a requirement.
