**Work Hours:** 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

**Lunch Break:** 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM EDT

**Compensation:** $6.00 – $7.00 per hour

### About the Company

Our client is a healthcare practice specializing in opioid medication management and addiction treatment. The clinic is dedicated to providing quality patient care through accurate medication management, efficient clinical operations, and compassionate patient support.

### Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Virtual Assistant, you will support both clinical and administrative operations to help ensure smooth patient care and daily workflow management. Responsibilities include:

-   Conduct end-of-day pill calculations by reviewing PDMP records, verifying prescription fill history, and tracking patient medication balances.
-   Handle incoming nurse line calls, document patient interactions, answer basic patient inquiries, and escalate clinical concerns when appropriate.
-   Process prescription prior authorizations and coordinate with insurance companies regarding medication approvals.
-   Assist with prescription preloading in the prescribing software.
-   Support basic chart preparation by copying and updating previous patient notes
-   Update and maintain patient records within the EHR system 
-   Perform other administrative and clerical support tasks as needed.
-   Assist with patient follow-ups and support daily office workflow management.
-   Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinic procedures.
-   Coordinate with providers and staff to support daily clinical operations.

## Requirements

### Qualifications & Experience

-   Healthcare, nursing, medical assistant, or other relevant clinical experience required.
-   Nursing background or experience preferred.
-   Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare workflows.
-   Experience using EHR/EMR systems; experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) is highly preferred.
-   Experience working in a medical practice, clinic, or healthcare environment is preferred.

### Basic requirements

-   Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
-   Must have relevant work experience
-   Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding \[mandatory\]
-   Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)
