**Job Title: Medical Virtual Assistant - Registered Nurse**

**Work Hours:** 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PDT

### About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Assistant (MA) Virtual Assistant to support a healthcare practice with prior authorizations, referrals, patient communication, medication refills, insurance verification, and administrative coordination.

This role requires a candidate with a strong medical background who understands clinical workflows, insurance processes, and patient care coordination. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with patients, providers, pharmacies, specialists, and insurance companies while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, accuracy, and HIPAA compliance.

### Core Responsibilities

### Prior Authorizations (Top Priority)

-   Submit, track, and follow up on insurance authorization requests
-   Coordinate with insurance companies regarding approvals, denials, and required documentation
-   Review authorization requirements and ensure all supporting information is submitted
-   Monitor pending authorizations and provide status updates to providers and staff

### Referrals Management (Top Priority)

-   Process and send referrals to specialists and healthcare facilities
-   Coordinate referral documentation and follow-up
-   Ensure referrals are completed accurately and timely
-   Communicate with specialty offices regarding referral status and scheduling  
    

### Phone Support & Patient Communication (Top Priority)

-   Answer incoming patient phone calls professionally
-   Return patient callbacks and follow-up inquiries
-   Assist patients with appointment-related concerns and clinical requests

### Medication Refills & Clinical Support

-   Process electronic medication refill requests

### Scheduling & Patient Coordination

-   Schedule and reschedule patient appointments
-   Send appointment reminders via phone and text

### Insurance Verification & Administrative Support

-   Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
-   Assist with insurance-related inquiries and documentation
-   Send and receive required faxes and clinical documents

## Requirements

-   Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Assistant (MA)
-   Previous healthcare or clinical experience required
-   Experience with prior authorizations required
-   Experience with referrals and insurance verification required
-   Experience handling medication refills preferred
-   Previous virtual assistant experience preferred
-   HIPAA training and compliance knowledge required
