## Description

**About us**

Food waste costs the world over $1 trillion a year. At Winnow, we're on a mission to change that — bringing AI-powered technology into hospitality kitchens to help eliminate waste at scale, with an ambition to save our clients $1 billion annually.

We started in London in 2013 with a simple belief: technology could make kitchens smarter and food systems more sustainable. Today that belief has grown into a global team spanning the UK, Romania, Dubai, Shanghai, Singapore, Malaysia, North America, and Mexico, working across 90+ countries and 3,500+ sites.

We're proud of the results we help our clients achieve. Names like IKEA, Hilton, Accor, Marriott, IHG, Compass Group, Iberostar, and Mandarin Oriental trust us to cut their food waste by over 50% on average — and when our technology is fully adopted, it reduces pre-consumer waste by 50–70% and delivers food cost savings of 2–8%.

We're building something that matters, and the people who thrive here feel that every day. We're proud to have been named one of The [Sunday Times Best Places to Work](https://www.thetimes.com/best-places-to-work/medium-companies/article/best-medium-companies-uk-2025-6h5mzgkwc) and ranked #4 in the [FoodTech 500 (2025)](https://forwardfooding.com/foodtech500/) — recognition of both our innovation and our commitment to building a purpose-led company where people can make a real difference.

**Our values**

Our values sit at the centre of all that we do. If they resonate with you, we'd love to hear from you and for you to help us on our mission.

- People of action - done is better than perfect. We move fast, learn faster
- Equal parts head and heart -  we balance passion with pragmatism
- Hungry and humble - we're ambitious about our mission, not our egos
- Bravely honest - we say what we think, respectfully, with colleagues and customers alike
- Bound by food - it's what unites us, and it's what we're fighting for
- People and planet positive - we're leaving both better than we found them

**About the team**

Winnow’s Product team sits at the centre of turning customer needs into what we build next. Product works directly with customers to understand their challenges and needs and partners with engineering to build and release elegant solutions to those needs that scale globally. As a product company, Winnow’s Product team is at the core of strategic direction and commercial opportunity. Product works closely with Business Development, Operations, and Customer Success to deliver a Product Roadmap that aligns strategically with our current and prospective customer base. Our close knit Product Team of 5 is based in London.

## Requirements

**About the role**

As Senior Product Manager, you will own the Vision Suite experience end to end: the AI capture system chefs use to log food waste in their kitchens. You will sit in the Kitchen Services team and own the single Vision Product Roadmap, including the priorities for Machine Learning Services and Hardware wherever their work affects Vision. Your challenge is to keep one coherent experience across five hardware generations in the field and three engineering teams working at different speeds. In your first 12 months you will build a regular programme for getting the team into kitchens and turn what we learn into clear requirements for engineering.

**Key responsibilities**

_**Product strategy and outcomes**_

- Own the product strategy and OKRs for the Vision Suite, turning the broader product vision into a single, clear product roadmap that includes Machine Learning Services and Hardware priorities wherever their work affects Vision.
- Own the Product Growth Funnel across the Vision Suite, defining clear success metrics for every major initiative, such as time to value, install friction, usage and engagement, and AI accuracy.
- Prioritise with a focus on outcomes over output, assess how features perform, and recommend changes or removal where they no longer deliver value.

_**Customer development and product discovery**_

- Build regular processes for getting the team into kitchens, including shift shadowing and site visits and empathy interviews while sharing what we learn across Winnow.
- Develop the domain expertise that customers and sales trust, running discovery to find root causes and validating value and usability before a line of code is written.
- Design for frontline users who are time-poor, interrupted and did not choose the tool, including human-in-the-loop experiences where user corrections feed model improvement.

_**Product delivery and collaboration**_

- Turn what we learn into clear requirements across the relevant engineering teams, and lead the product trio by context and alignment, not control.
- Communicate the product roadmap proactively, explaining the rationale and trade-offs behind decisions, and build strong partnerships across the business to drive Vision end to end. Launch major features on time, equipping sales with battle cards and support with documentation.
- Manage the backlog, sprints and release notes, running backlog grooming, sprint planning and regular demos, and communicating progress and blockers openly.

_As you grow in the role, you will take on cross-team launch synchronisation across hardware, firmware and software releases. This is the next step on Winnow’s Product Management growth path._

**About you**

_**Role requirements**_

- You may come from a product, design or engineering background. We value breadth and experience of building products over a long career in product management alone.
- You have worked in technology and product teams, and can point to outcomes you owned, not only features you delivered.
- You have shipped products that combine hardware, software and machine learning.
- You have designed for frontline users and spent time with them where they work.
- You understand human-in-the-loop systems.
- You have commercial acumen and can connect product decisions to customer and business value.
- You are comfortable analysing data independently using SQL or product analytics tools.
- You are technically curious and credible with engineers, though you don’t need to be an engineer yourself.
- Experience in industries such as kitchen-tech, medical devices, frontline or industrial tools, connected home and security hardware, wearables or mobility (Nice to have).

**Personal attributes**

- You collaborate by instinct. You build high trust with engineering and design peers, lead by context rather than control, and build strong relationships across teams and borders, using diplomacy where needed to bring people with you.
- You are user-driven, and your decisions start from what you see and hear from the people who use the product.
- You are organised and can facilitate complex projects with many moving parts.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity, including work that spans five hardware generations and three engineering teams.
- You devise and execute plans with little guidance, take initiative, and empower others to do the same.
- You communicate clearly in writing and in person, present with confidence to audiences small and large, and influence in a non-confrontational way, including when the message is difficult.
- You are open about what did not work and are hungry for feedback. You run honest post-mortems on failed bets, share what you learn with your team and across Winnow, and give and receive feedback to improve performance.
- You are passionate about the value of food and committed to the fight against food waste
