More Than a Role We don’t just need a Junior Legal Counsel, we need a pragmatic problem-solver. We’re looking for someone who enjoys untangling complex privacy and AI questions and turning regulation into clear, workable answers, while keeping an analytical focus on how their work delivers real business impact. This isn’t a role for someone who exclusively wants to stay in their lane. You’ll be at the center of it all helping shape and run our global data protection and AI governance programme, ensuring everything you touch is practical, risk-based, and at the same time aligned with our wider goals. You won’t be a solo operator. You’ll collaborate with your fellow Legal Counsel, plus you will be working with several specialised departments of WorkMotion, bringing everything together to ensure that the machine is running smoothly. ### Where Responsibility Meets Real Opportunity - Run day-to-day GDPR operations - draft and negotiate DPAs and Standard Contractual Clauses with international vendors and clients, conduct vendor privacy reviews, and help keep our records of processing and privacy notices current across a wide international footprint. - Drive our AI governance forward - help maintain regulatory EU AI Act readiness by keeping up with new developments and putting them into practice. - Handle data subject requests. - Be a trusted face to Clients - support our Operations Team in helping our clients to understand the legal framework of our business. - Research and monitor developments - track GDPR, the EU AI Act, EDPB guidance, case law, and national specifics. ### What It Takes to Make an Impact Here - A law degree (or equivalent legal qualification) and 1–2 years of hands-on data protection experience in-house, in a law firm, or in a consultancy. - A working knowledge of the GDPR in practice. - A genuine interest in AI regulation. - Strong legal research skills: you digest new guidance and case law quickly and turn it into clear, actionable advice. - A structured, pragmatic, and self-organised way of working - comfortable owning topics independently in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. - Business-fluent English. **Bonus Points If You Bring** - German language skills (our services are governed by German law) or other languages spoken across our footprint. - A privacy certification such as CIPP/E. - Exposure to HR-tech, SaaS, or global employment / EOR, or to non-EU privacy regimes ### Not Your Typical Team We are a team of three highly talented Legal minds, who are based in Germany and Italy.
