# QA Engineer (Playwright)

## Description

We are looking for a **Quality Engineer** to join our client's engineering team and help ensure they deliver high-quality software at speed. In this role, you will contribute to building reliable automated test coverage across web, API, and mobile applications while collaborating closely with software engineers throughout the development lifecycle.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who is passionate about software quality, enjoys writing clean and maintainable test automation, and wants to help improve testing practices, CI/CD pipelines, and overall product reliability. You'll play an important role in ensuring quality is built into every release by participating in design discussions, automation efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.

**Responsibilities**

**Test Automation & Quality Engineering**

-   Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web, API, and mobile applications.
-   Write clean, maintainable, and reusable test code as part of feature development and bug-fix workflows.
-   Execute comprehensive test plans, including test case creation, execution, coverage analysis, and defect reporting.
-   Expand automated regression coverage to improve product reliability and release confidence.
-   Contribute to performance testing efforts by creating and executing performance test scenarios.

**Software Quality & Testing**

-   Perform functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end testing.
-   Investigate, reproduce, and document software defects with clear root cause analysis.
-   Validate bug fixes and ensure issues are resolved before production releases.
-   Participate in code reviews and help maintain quality standards across the engineering team.
-   Raise quality and testability considerations during architecture and design discussions.

**CI/CD & Development Collaboration**

-   Help improve CI/CD pipelines by integrating and optimizing automated test execution.
-   Collaborate with developers to support shift-left testing practices, including unit testing, contract testing, and testability improvements.
-   Work closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
-   Support testing efforts within Agile development processes.

**Documentation & Continuous Improvement**

-   Maintain test documentation, automation frameworks, test plans, and runbooks.
-   Contribute to improving testing processes, tooling, and engineering best practices.
-   Share knowledge and collaborate with team members to continuously improve product quality.

## Requirements

-   3+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Development.
-   Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
-   Strong experience with at least one programming language such as **Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript**.
-   Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as:

-   Playwright

-   Experience testing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services using tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
-   Experience working with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
-   Basic experience with Docker and containerized testing environments.
-   Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
-   Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, automation best practices, and defect lifecycle management.
-   Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail.
-   Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams.
-   Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
-   Must be located in Latam.

**Nice-to-Haves**

-   Experience working at a high-growth technology company.
-   Experience with performance or load testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or k6.
-   Experience testing microservices, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures.
-   Familiarity with security testing concepts and OWASP best practices.
-   Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Splunk.
-   Experience with contract testing tools such as Pact.
-   Exposure to chaos engineering practices.
-   Contributions to open-source testing frameworks or QA communities.
